Ma’ot Chitim (Passover Tzedakah) and the Sale of Chametz

As we prepare to celebrate Pesach with family and friends, we must enable those who cannot afford even the most basic necessities of the holiday to observe the festival in dignity and in accordance with tradition.  The following agencies help those in need at this time:

The New York Board of Rabbis provides chaplaincy programs year round to Jewish residents in over 300 New York State institutions — hospitals, geriatric and child care centers, prisons, and mental health facilities — and distributes Passover food and arranges for kosher Seders in these facilities.

The Brotherhood Synagogue Passover Fund distributes assistance to those who come to us directly.

In the Haggadah it is written about the matzah, “This is the bread of affliction.  Let all who are hungry come and eat; let all who are needy come and celebrate Pesach with us.” This is the goal of our appeal.

Please complete the form below.
We will divide the money received equally among the organizations above.
I do hereby authorize Rabbi Daniel Alder to sell, transfer and assign all chametz in my possession.
